All tournament matches between Redfox and me have been ended in a draw. Four in total have been generated, and until today I thought that the last one was valid but it looks like that one too was terminated. I guess it is too late to start another one now, and there will probably be a lot of people who get draws on the last map anyway.

On another note, the client I am currently on refuses to download my game against Rocklizard, but I guess it will work out when I get back to my regular computer by monday afternoon (CET). (How about you end that game in a draw, would really be a relief. )

Ah I wondered why no turns were coming through. Let me know if there is a time that you are free to make progress in this game next week and I will try and be available to catch-up a few turns.

Regards the Redfox game - he sent a message saying that you and he were playing the original duplicate game and that you would prefer to have this one count for tourney purposes.

Sorry, this was my fault. I assumed that since Mwigor said the games ere duplicate, that meant the first one issued was the correct game to play, so I asked the devs to discontinue all other games that had been issued.

After discovering what the problem was with Mwigor, I sent a message to Smilodon and Lumen asking if it was ok if we play the games we had already started. This was about a week and a half ago, but I never received a response from either player.

Now that we're all here and on the same page, we can make a decision and play these games out. Smilodon, would you like to play through the original game issued, or would you like to have a new game issued and we can play that one? I'm fine with either option.

Same question to Lumen, if he's out there.

I have made a decision which I hope all will be happy with.

Unfortunately the games can't now be played in time - so I'm going to use the solution used in tournament Bridge where a hand can't be played.

I am going to award 60% ie 1.2 points per game to those who are clearly not at fault in any way (lumen/Smilodon) and 40% ie 0.8 per game to the party which was partly at fault (Redfox).

Well I hope everyone has enjoyed the tourney - I will probably run another one at some point. Rocklizard is guaranteed to win - meaning he has won both of the first two MA/MAN individual tournaments.

2nd/3rd place are still up for grabs.

Remember that even if your battle isn't finished by the end date (this Wednesday) then you can request an adjudication of your battles.

This will be done by a panel of Tiger, Rocklizard and myself.

is that 6pm gmt? Just wanted to clarify, not fair on some ppl if they get times wrong.

Also maybe in future tourneys if there are some people wjop always do well, they start with a ahndicap of maybe -2 points or something to make it more interesting.

Exact time limit isn't so important - all games are eligible for adjudication in the event that they're not finished - I won't reject any adjudication requests because they're a little bit late. But better is to send them early.

Tiger and I have been discussing future tourneys - a handicap may be an option - in practice what I'm proposing will allow different people into the winners circle next time round.

It might be a good idea to group people into divisions, and we could just play the people in our division, but then that would cause problems as we try to group people. People could be more competitive if they know they'll be facing people around their skill level, rather than praying that they don't draw a top-level player and get dusted. Of course, it might not work out that well, I don't know, just tossing out ideas.
