Do you not get a win for a game where you opponent exceeds the time limit? I have a game where that happened and I clicked the "finish" button, but my W/L stat was not updated.

Ok, I have now had three games that have gone past the turn time limit and I have "Finished" .. Yet none of them show up in my Win/Loss stat. Can anyone tell me why that is? Is it a bug or a "feature"?

Hi,

i had the same question and i send as Bug-Report.
And here is the answer:

"Hello Aydrian,

The system counts the termination of the game and hereby couts the
points not immediately after you finish it and send it , but as soon
as your opponent recieves the turn, views it and sends it to the
server as a kind of confirmation that he accepts the game ending. So
as soon as your opponent gets the game, your points should change. IF
nothing changes, I would ask you to contact me again.

That doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. So an opponent that simply dissappears off the face of the earth and never sees the final "turn" will never turn into a win? Or someone that doesnt send it back to the server (I am not clear from the response what kind of mechanism is involved in confirming the loss)? It seems a pretty easy tactic to exploit/grief with.

I would concur. Your opponent should be able to view the final turn, but that shouldn't have any affect on the termination of the game.

I now have 11 games that have timed out .. NONE of them have transferred to my stats yet. Either all of the opponents have stopped playing all together or this process is broken.

Hi!

I've had 2 games time out and have finished. They were transferred to finished games and counted as losses.

:-?

I've had games time out on turn 2 but I guess that is not a win because my opponent hadn't moved...

I now have over 20 games that have timed out .. Some in the first couple turns, some very late game .. My understanding is that they will turn to wins, but only if the opponent views the final turn.

Is this correct? It seems hugely unfair .. You play through an entire game, but don't receive credit for it because your opponent dissapears?

Can some developer clarify this issue please?

After the game has timed out, I believe you have to choose the Finish option on the game for it to be counted for you. Haven't tried it, but its a new button that appears in your "Waiting for turns" section.

That is correct .. The problem is that the opponent must view the final turn before it is actually counted as a win for you. I have about 20 games "pending" in the Finished Games tab that have not yet been counted.

We'll soon eliminate that problem.
The victory will be counted as soon as it is achieved, no matter if the losing player views/accepts it or not.
