Currently turn 4. My opponent was given the Guerilla cash for Gloster even though I did not invade it. Then, at the start of my turn it says that my opponent has invaded Gloster, (because he placed Guerilla troops in it), and the City in Gloster is given to me.

Notice in the attached replay that, on turn 3, my Tank invading an adjacent Country skims into Gloster, travelling 2 spaces, although it is not triggering an invasion into it.

The replay covers to the end of turn 3. The start of turn 4, where the problem is plainly shown, must be played to add it to a replay but I don't want to play a now broken and unfair game.

Assistance please.

The problem is in the difference of your and your opponent's versions.

The program differentiates only the start and the final point of unit movements, and not the exact route of a unit, hex by hex. The different versions of MA calculate this very route in different ways. This is obviously your case.

On the attached image you can see that you moved your tank as a blue arrow shows, while your opponents version read it as a red one indicates.

So to avoid such confusions I would strongly recommend to download the latest patch 191. Unfortunately to replay or repair this game is impossible, and if you dont wish to keep playing it, it will be finished, but only after agreement of your opponent.

To All: I would like to remind that it is recommended by Massive Assault team to upgrade the old versions, while similar situations make inconveinces not only for you but for your opponents as well, as time and efforts were spent in vain...

Regards
Olga

I ended my next turn without doing anything and sent my opponent, 'DeCommunisto' a message indicating he should view this message (URL was provided) and agree to end the game.

He not only did not send me any reply, but he simply carried on playing the game, doing his best to win, and completely ignoring both my message and that I had done nothing on my turn.

Please advise me as to what should be done to resolve this situation.

Due to the difference in versions, he is more likely unable to read your messages.
I will e-mail him myself and explain everything.

Cheers,
Olga

Ah, I just got Olga's email. Sorry, I never recieved an ingame message, so I just carried on the game. I'll admit I was quite bewildered as to why you didn't do anything in your turn. But if you wanted to end the game, why didn't you just surrender?

Oh, nevermind... sorry, I didn't read the whole thread. Yes, I will agree to end the game if a technical glitch messed it up. How do we go about doing that?

Who is the one with the outdated MA here... I've used True Update from the MA CD and it says I have the latest version. Does True Update work?

2 Communisto
it was already explained that true update is not a MA feature and it was never supported by MA developers. it's distributors feature and it is probably not working cuz distributor are lazy to make it right,
just download the patch from site and install it manually it wont take long

Um, no. It wasn't "explained" to me when I bought the game...

Anyway, I got the new patch and everything is updated. How do we go about fixing/ending this game?

Noooo! I was going to beat a Marshal in my first game!! :)

Ah well, you have my permission to wipe it. I'll just nail his hide on Emerald some other time. This game is just crashing to desktop when I try to take my turn, the same happens if you try and run a replay of the game.

We're both up to date patch wise, and I've got the text file fix from the forums (though I don't know if mrakobes has).
