Game [3006] vs Sergeant HypnosLord, turn #11

He has refused to take his turn and time is up.

Why is it that the game does not automatically give a player a loss when they refuse to take their turn and the time runs out?

Just what is the turn time limit for?

I have surrendered 2 games so far. Had I known about this non-lose bug I would have been inclined to not take any more turns, like others do.

I think it is rude and disrespectful towards your opponent not to finish your games. If you cant stand the round, atleast surrender. Afterall, your opponent has invested his own private time in playing you.

Not taking your turns is giving you a bad name imho. I have some games running which I am loosing big time. Sometimes it can be a bit boring to play these...but afterall...since your in such a bad posistion...you 'might' have something to learn from completing the game and carefully watching your opponents moves

I completely support the idea that the expired battle should be autofinished immediately. Delaying the battle which is obviously lost to avoid defeat is certainly a dishonorable act which ashames the player. However, the current situation is following- the turn counter feature is implemented BUT the "time is up" autofinish is not turned on and so the games are not being finished automatically. Why? Because in january when the devs autofinished alot of expired games there was a lot of complaints from those bad players who were whining and screaming like "why the game is finished i was going to make my turn just tomorrow" etc.So since devs dont want to disappoint anybody including the worst players they not turned autofinish on yet.The devs promice to make another feature allowing the player to choose if he wants to autofinish the expired game or wait. But i do not know when they are going to implement this.

I think it's pretty unanimous that you should do the justice of allowing person a win bracket.

Funny thing: I would be that if someone did it to them they'd complain about it, too. ;)

Personally, I forsee myself surrending to Tiger in about three or four more turns, at this rate. ;) If I make it to turn 10 or 12 alive, I'm gunna be surprised. :D

Me.

Yes, we (devs) would like to make players responsible for forced finish of expired games bacause it is impossible to handle this issue with such complatins we've received first time we've run this feature. And we're working on this now and it will be in the nearest patch (not more than in a month). So, please, wait a bit and then everybody will be able to obtain justice for expired games.

What happens when we force a finish? Will it be counted as a draw or a victory since the other player didn't keep up?

It seems like a pretty easy way to resolve this problem (and keep whiners quiet) would simply be to have the two players agree to the conditions of the game when it is set up. In other words, along with choosing the map, you'd also agree on max turn length, max game length, and choose the option for what happens if either is exceeded. Players that wouldn't agree to auto-completion upon turn timeout would quickly find themselves without opponents.

Forced finish will cause victory with usual score for one player and defeat without any score for another.

Interesting. So it is actually worse to lose by not taking a turn than by surrendering or losing... At least if you surrender, you get points from the defeat.

this is very interesting idea - force them to understand that fast surrendering is worse that delaying,I want to see this feature implemented as soon as possible.
