Hey, this is going to sound like an odd question, but...

I run the game both at home and at work, and, due to the failure of the hardware at work (the CD rom is crappy, and we don't have full admin privledges, just partial), I need to run the NoCD on the machine at work to be able to use the game there.. So I have a question about multiplayer, as I know how noCDs like to screw stuff up..

Say I start a game, whether or not I'm playing it at home, and I decided, during a boring time of no calls at the office, to play a few turns of a game I have running MP... will that make stuff go haywire or will it work properly?

And, more importantly, will I get blacklisted for doing such a thing? :| I don't want anyone to think I'm cheating (because cheating is stupid) or didn't pay for the game (because this game was worth a whole lot MORE than the $30 I spent on it, imho) or anything, I just feel that when I get into the multiplayer, I'm going to dig my heels in pretty deep, and being able to play a turn or two at work when I have time would be great, but if that's going to screw stuff up, I'll just deal with playing the computer at work and play MP at home. . .

Anyone (devs?) wanna help me out with this? :)

Me.

If you are playing from home and office, you need to synchronize your profiles manually. First way is a complete profile restoration. Second way- remember IDs of unsynchronized games and press 'restore' on it. Game becomes unsynhronized if you made your turn and send it. Please note, that after a restoring of a game or profile you will not see the latest turns. Third way it is copying your prfoile from one PC to anothere using for example a diskette. So you will have always latest profile state.

At this time we are working on version which will automatically synchronyze profiles in different places.

You may play both at home and work, but you should use "RESTORE PROFILE" option BEFORE you start playing on a new computer.

In other words, the first thing you do when coming to your working place is to run MA and run "RESTORE PROFILE" option - and then say "Hello" to your Boss.
And when you first go gome from work - you first run MA and hit "RESTORE PROFILE" button and then go kiss your wife and kids (if any).

I do like the fact that massive assault comes first, Vic. You guys have your priorities straight. ;)

But that only half-answered me. I understand you likely don't support noCDs, and I wasn't requesting that you do, I was mostly wondering if the slight change of the EXE file would corrupt the multiplayer games, or otherwise cause them to be confused.

If there's even a CHANCE that it will, I'm not gunna risk it, the game is WAY too fun to give it bad press because of the fact that the work machine's CDRom can't read the copy protection... :)

if these changes are not concerned to game's rulez than no. Multiplayer will working fine.
