but what is a reason to do this?
If you would like to translate MA on your favorite language you have to do a LOT of work and better to ask us to do this.

Is it possible to get copies of the english .txt files?
My brother speaks french, and brought this game home with him. I installed it, but I can't really understand anything :[
I was hoping that the version was international, but that doesnt seem to be the case...

Anyone help me?

Thanks ahead of time...

So, how did you edit it, anyway? I've tried a big bunch of different editors - neither of them understood the encoding.

Fairlight released a GERMAN warez version on the net and some folks maybe wanting to use this translation to play the games in other languages.

We already seen the Russian warez Massive Assault. Such badly-localized game I can only wish for my enymies 8)
I'm almost sure that the German localization has the same quality :-)

Previos message in more common language should sound as:

We've already seen a Russian warez of Massive Assault. I would offer to buy such a poor localization to my enemy only. 8) I'm almost sure that the German localization has the same quality. :)

what's the point of having a pirated version - you can not play multiplayer in it...

Another point against pirated versions is very ugly localization. For example, russian pirated version is just dangerous for eyesight and mental health :) German one is probably too.

Mrakobes, have you seen russian localization made by pirates?

lol yes the first MA version i seen was pirated warez  the text fonts were so bad that i could barely see what written there - and btw there wasnt much to read because translation looked like meaningless ramblings (probably made by some automatic text translation program).Seeing that i said - screw this i'm off to get licensed version.

I do like not having to have the dumb CD in the drive though. I know that it's supposed to be an anti-pirate feature, but in my opinion it's just stupid, it hurts the real customers more. Like Mrakobes said, you can't play online so you need to purchase the game anways to really enjoy it. On most games that I buy I end up looking for a NO-CD crack on the internet (which there happens to be for MA) because I hate having to keep the CD in the Drive. I really like the idea that Stardock (makers of GalCiv) had about copy protection, here is an article by the head devoloper for Stardock:

http://draginol.joeuser.com/index.asp?AID=209

If it wasn't for the copy protection that Matrix put in, we wouldn't be in this mess with the patch!

Very Good article about Piracy at that website & a very good idea to minimise warez copies. I'm all for this.

Very good article. I own GalCiv and I'm very happy to be a Stardock customer. Those folks really know what they're doing. Others would do well to follow their example.
