I'm not sure if I'm the only one who gets this or not, and I'm not sure if this is a known issue, or if the devs are working on it, but I thought I'd mention it, just in case...

As is known I have 3 different machines I play on. 2 at work, 1 at home. When I restore the profile bouncing between the machines, I can't see any of the previous-turn replays that happened between the profile restore.

The problem with this is two-fold..

1. I have no idea what the heck the opponent did on their turn. I mean, I can see where they moved TO, but I can't judge well what units I lost, etc.

2. I use the message system a LOT, and there's NO way to view any of the messages without going through the replay.

Now, granted, I can get past the first problem by saving a replay, viewing the replay, and going back to the game, but that's a PITA, and either way I still can't view the messages.

Even if it was something as simple as having a "view message log" button that let you see the messages sent that turn it'd be great, but what would be BEST is if the turn replay carried to the restore.

I have the Misc01 text and the 191 patch, am I just doing something wrong? It never seems to break games, so. . . that's not the issue. :)

Me.

the fact is that replays are not shown after restoration.that's because restore profile is supposed to be used as an "rescue" utility for example when data on disk gets erazed somehow...and devs probably not thought that somebody would want to restore the profiles constantly.
second problem is..well actually current chat system is very inabeqate and the first why i wait MAN is thai want a build-in real-time chat. But until the MAN appears you better use not in-game chat but instant messaging (that's how i was communicating since i started playing MA.)

I think I remember the conversation that you are referring to. They just told you how to do it, not that the recommended it. Probably would have been nice if they would have let you in on the replay and chat issues, eh?

they not recommended you to do this they just said it is technically possible but not said it will be convenient
though...
such a crazy idea - dont restore profile at all - when you are at one comp connect to server then take a diskette copy your "save" folder in it then go to other comp delete save folder there and replace it with folder from diskette.
