My PC has a Creative Audigy 2 using the latest drivers (EAX 4 has come into existance :)). Whenever I switch on Hardware audio, the music sort of jumps around, breaking up, and once or twice the application crashed on me.

When I switched to software, everything was fine.

Ideas?

Hmmm, not sure what else I can add. It's an internal Sound Blaster Audigy 2, it uses the latest drivers, the problem occurs in the demo, in MA and in MAN. I am completely up to date with patches for both the OS and MA... not sure what else I can do.

Software sound sucks :P

I should note that the problem doesn't occur until after I've changed the setting AND forced the game to load something (i.e. a map).

Hello

I bought the North American box version of MA and have noticed with the latest patch (204) that when hardware audio is enabled the music skips a lot. I tried software mode without restarting the game and have not noticed a change....same skipping....

Anyways just to let y'all know that Quitch isn't the only one with this problem.

As far as I can tell, MA and Audigys don't get along very well...almost everybody with sound problems that I can think of have had some sort of Audigy, including myself.

I honestly don't know how to fix it though, or I would have done so a long time ago :(

Maybe you could try alternative drivers from kX Project: http://kxproject.lugosoft.com/
I don't know how well this drivers cope with Audigy 2, but they solved all my problems with audigy 1 which I'm using.
