Please, post here about the broken games indicating the game ID and both opponents.

As soon as a game is fixed, we will let you know.

The following games - 4108, 4100, 4137, 4099, 4013 - are being currently viewed.

Thanks for understanding and patience.

Regards
Olga

4173 - Icarus vs Aranian on New Paradise - Broken Turn #5 - according to him, at least.

Aranian, did you ever try repairing that one?

I was just taking a turn against Aranian where he didn't do a goddamn thing on his turn.
I figured "oh oh... another break."

And it would have been, had I not decided to just go back into the menu and repair it before doing anything.
After doing the repair, it appeared on my screen that Aranian did take his move. So that all worked out.

I think that if I had taken my turn without repairing, and had sent it, Aranian would have gotten the "broken" message without being able to repair it.

So, word to the wise, if it even looks broken, without getting the message, hit repair.

[edit]
In fact, I think this may be the reason behind the recent string of broken games... it actually breaks on one end and isn't repaired, and then a double-compounded break is sent on to the opponent, which the repair button can't fix.
I think the MA software isn't detecting these breaks where they occur, but only afterwards when its too late. So use your eyes for now.

(I'm going to assume you meant "...you didn't make a move either on our game that broke...")

Well, it just seems to happen a lot.
You pretty much got to take two turns in a row, and as a result its irreparably broken on my end.
I got to essentially take two turns in a row against Aranian and Zippo, and it became irreparably broken on their ends.
And apparently Aranian got to take 2 turns in a row against Asmodeous, and that games now broken on Asmodeous' end.

In fact, the same thing almost happened with the other game with Aranian, which I described above. This time I took preventative measures, hit "repair" even though the game didn't mention needing it, and our game is still going on. (However, I do now have a different problem... I know that Aranian has taken his turn, because things of mine have blown up, but I don't get to actually see him make the turn. Its as if I'd pressed the Skip button on the turn replay, even though I haven't.)

I'm not going to be brazen and say that this is the be-all-end-all reason for games being "broken." But I think its fair to assume that its now more than a coincidence if its happened four times, three of which have been directly related to one person (me!), and thats only as has been reported in this particular thread.

I'd also like to point out that, on a more coincidental and completely unproved hypothesis, that I've had these problems in abundance ever since installing that 'misc01.txt' patch. I've had The latest, full-blown game patch ever since I first started playing, but I only added the misc one two days ago, and I've been having these breaks all over. Bug, maybe?

Yeah, sometimes my units can be really swift and deadly like that. :D

I don't really have any insight into how the internals of this thing works, but my guess is that "repair" just re-downloads the game file from the server. Assuming that that's the case, if the file is, for example, corrupted prior to or during the upload process, then there's no fixing it.

It sounds like those testimonials in the 911 Rescure Documentaries, eh?

Dear Players (with broken game ;)),

We will correct this bug in the nearest patch, which is going to appear within 3 weeks. But currently we can offer the only solution to this problem - to end all those broken games.

We hope this slight inconvenience will influence in no way your playing and enjoying Massive Assault.

And we would like to thank you for your patience and devotion.

As soon as your and your opponents' approval is recieved, the games will be finished. It concerns first of all 4013, 4099, 4100, 4108, 4137, 4173, 4193 games.

Best regards
Olga

Now that you mention it. . .

"We hope this slight inconvenience will influence in no way your playing and enjoying Massive Assault."

So far it has only been games I was losing, so I'm fine with it. ;)

Me.

4100 is me vs DryFire on Rust... so you have my okay on that.
And I think 4137 was me vs Zippo on emerald, right? I'm okay with that too.

game 4137 against Icarus can be cancelled
Just wondering if there was anyway to prevent the problem till the patch comes out? Other than what Icarus said.

Just wanted to make sure you know of both my broken games:

#3635 (Zeh vs. Yantar)
#3683 (Zeh vs. Fantasts)

It's OK with me if you end them both.

Thanks!

Broken game: 3373 Vs Maulen. It was only turn 2, so I don't think either side would care that it is finished by draw
