I get a "kernel 32 error" after installation of the demo. It crashes and won't load. Anyone else getting this?

I've tried downloading from two different sites in case it was a corrupted file but no dice.

Specs are Athlon 2600 XP, Asus A7N-8X, WinME, 512 MB RAM, Geforce 4 4200Ti.

Ladies and Gentlemen

Thank you very much for your patience and valuable help.
We suspect that the bug happens only on Win98 and WinME machines and our programmers are trying to find the solution. Expect the new "Demo Patch" soon.

Maybe some of you can burn the Demo's distibutive file onto CD and try installing and running it at a friend's PC, with Win 2000 or XP...
If somebody does it and it works, please, post in this thread!

Thank you for understanding.

I've created patch which fixes the error in Demo on Win98/ME.
Patch is available to download from here
http://www.massiveassault.com/download/ma.zip

Please, replace your ma.exe file by the file from this archive.

Thanks to all for assistance!

You should pass this news along to sites like Blue's News so more people will know of the fix. (I'm assuming it really does work, of course. I'm at work and can't check it for myself.)

PostPosted: Fri Dec 19, 2003 12:33 pm
Ive got windows XP, when i run the demo it works fine to start with, loads up to the main menu, then a few seconds in, it freezes and i get a windows system error, somthing about a device failing and having to restart O.o

Mind you my graphics card is only an on-board one, as is my sound card, 128Mb RAM, 1.8GHz pentium processor.... i need an upgrade i know, but i was hoping i could at least run the demo, heh :)

Koiju
the problem can be more complicated than it seems.
First of all you should try the latest drivers for your video card.
But if it does not help you will almost no chances to run MA

i am planning on getting a new graphics card some time in the near future however, so if you think its a graphics card problem, would this solve it? any minimum graphics card specs i should aim for?
