Hi Guys,

Is it just me or have i set up my game wrong ? After sending my move & receiving my opponent's move, while watching his moves the view point changes and i don't get to see what he hit ? the view will then pan to another part of the map then the same thing happens again ?

Anyone got any ideas on how to fix this ?

Another Question durning these play back i can't seem to zoom in or out ? I tried to do this to correct the above panning problem i have ?

Many Thx

Shouldn't there be a speed selector in the bottom right corner. You can slow things down there, as well as pause.

Guessing, since I don't have the full version :)

Hi,

even with it on dead slow speed, say he moves a Rocket Launcher and fires at any of my units just slighty off screen u get to see the rockets flying, they disappear off screen, you hear the impact hits but the camera doen't pan to see the attacked unit ? Then screen changes to another part of the battles ?

It is know for me problem. But it is not solved yet as you see. We definitely need to pay attention of vadim for its problem. As I understand it, if we solve this problem, replays will become slower because of lower action interleaving. Waiting for vadim's comment :-)

The ideal solution for this would be to allow the user to freely move the camera viewpoint and zoom in/out around during the replay and also to go backwards/forwards in time similar to the way a video player works. In other words the replay is like a movie that you can replay and examine over and over. Such a system is already used in the combat mission games (and maybe others as well, combat mission is the only other TBS game I'm familiar with). There is likely to be be a lot of work involved in a change of that magnitude though.

I'm sure you guys know all this already, just thought I'd share my thoughts... :)

I'll try to explain the problem:
1) It is need from 5 to 15 seconds to show how one unit move or shoot another completly (let takes 7 seconds as average).
2) Usualy players do 15-50 actions during his turn. This (including camera movement) can takes 100-350 secs to show one turn. (350 secs it is more than 5 minutes!!!)
So we made 'effective' showing time param which is usualy significant less then necessary time. It allows as to show turn more quikly, but some time prevents of viewing complete action of one unit on another.
We have some good ideas how to improve "quality" of showing turn without a losing speed. And sure, we will implement them.

Another thing: it is possible to imporve "quality" of turn using of cursor keys and mouse during replay. (cursors allows to fly over map and mouse allows to rotate camera and zoom freely(move wheel - to zoom, hold wheel and move mouse to rotate camera)).

Also we have in our todo list to make somethig like DVDplayer interface for replay. Which will allow to move turn back/forward and other useful things.

If you pause the replay you can scroll over to where the unit that was hit is, you can also then zoom in znd out. At least i was able to do that on the replays i have seen.

Yeah, I had a similar problem in that when watching my opponents turn the camera was just spinning around in circles. It was quite confusing and it left the game in an orientation I was not prepared for. I found a setting in the options that was like a free camera box (I forget exactly what it said), changed that and restarted the game and everything seemed to work fine after that
