Okay, okay, I'm sorry, but I could sure use some help. I've posted about sound problems before, and good old Vad has tried to help. But none of the changes to the ini file have actually solved the problem.

I'm expereriencing distorted sound while playing MA. It affects the voices, sound effects, and music. There's no problems at all during the opening screens, or the game menu. But when I get into the game the sound gets very spastic and jittery. At times, it seems to go away, but often comes back when the units move.

Now, I would be playing the heck out of this game, probably even try it multiplayer, but the sound is driving me nuts. I've changed the sound settings, and tried cpu sharing changes. I've changed resolutions, textures, shading, high and low quality sounds. No go.

I've got a HP machine with a 1.2 amd processor, 512 ram, a 256 Geforce Fx 5300 card (yes, with the latest drives) windows Me. I can play Warcraft3, Age of Mythology, Halo, Tron, Morrowwind, Gal Civ, and several others without a bit of problems either sound or graphic wise.

Anybody got any ideas, cause this one won't stay on the hardrive for long.

frustrated

we are trying to reproduce your problem here, but still unsuccessfull.
Could you remind me: you have no such problems with demo, yes?
also, have you any programms (antiviruses, MP3 playrs etc) on background?

Thank you Vad, once again for your quick and timely response. Yes, I did have some problems of a similar nature with the demo and contacted you via the forum. You suggested changing Sound and User Hardware or Cpu sharing which I did and the problem, for the most part cleared up in the demo. Not so with the game.

Now, I'm running EZarmor virus and firewall programs, but generally turn off everything in the system tray when playing games as a general habit. No effect there.

thanks again, I appreciate your help.

Hi Vad,

Thanks once again for the quick response and suggestions. I tried windowed mode and also changed the sound to the numbers you specified.

This greatly reduced the distortion until I tried turning the music back on while in a game. It was very obvious that the music was distored, and then it seemed like the voice and sound effects followed. I don't mind playing without the music, although, to be honest, I rather liked the nice heroic feel to the soundtrack, but I came away feeling that nothing was really fixed.

I've also run dxdiag and found no problems. It seems very weird that I'm the only one having this problem. I haven't done anything to the computer that would make it different from hundreds or thousands like it. At any rate, I very much appreciate you, and tech support for their assistance.

thanks again,
madjoseph

Hi,

I thought things were beginning to line out soundwise, until I started the scenario Bloody Channel. Even with the music off, the voices and soundeffects were so bad that it was simply unplayable.

So, feeling rather frustrated I uninstalled the game. Then, not happy with that either, I reinstalled. The game played fine, with no real problems in sound--until I patched it. Once patched the sound problems returned. So I reinstalled again, and even without the patch, Bloody Channel still sounds bloody awful.

I don't know if that helps anyone in anyway figure out what the sound bug is, and why no one else seems to have it, but I thought I'd let you guys know.

thanks,

madjoseph.

Hi Vadim,

You'll be pleased, as I was, to discover that the new patch seemed to clear up a lot of the sound problems I was having. Thanks so much for continuing to improve the game.

I had no sound problems except, for some reason, on the Bloody Channel scenario. Sound distortion on music, effects, and voices on that one. However, the problems lessened somewhat when I zoomed in as close as possible. The improvement did not last through the scenario, however.

Still, thanks for the new patch. It's helped a lot in this respect.
