I'm putting together a post of all the known issues in 204, if you know of anything missed (for example, I don't know which scenarios and campaigns are broken) please tack it on.
The following are bugs that I can reproduce with the 204 patch
1. If you create a replay from the victory screen it doesn't correctly list the FNU player second in the replay filename, it will list you as the first player regardless of the side you played
e.g. Player X (PL) Vs. Player Y (FNU)
Player Y wins and when the victory screen comes up chooses to make a replay. This is then saved as:
#####-Player Y(W)-Player X(L)-#
Obviously Player Y should be listed second, and this will occur if you create the replay from the Finished Battles screen.
This bug also affects AI WW replays.
2. If you create a replay from the victory screen it lists it as being a turn less than if you created it from the Finished Battles screen. i.e. a battle listed as being 13 turns will have a filename ending with 12 if you create the replay from the victory screen.
AI games seem to have the correct turn count, but I don't have a multiplayer game where I created a replay from both the Victory screen and Finished Battles screen to do a proper comparison.
3. Turns are not counted correctly during replays if it is a replay of a singleplayer game where the player was playing as the FNU. This leads to the following (if the player is FNU):
TURN 1:
Player deploys
AI deploys
TURN 2:
AI moves
TURN 3:
Player moves
AI moves
4. Creating a replay of a singleplayer game fails to insert the name of the player, only that of the AI.
5. When the game is first loaded, the first menu item you select will take two clicks to work. After that all menu buttons will respond to the first click.
6. Rewinding doesn't remove decals i.e. tracks from the ground, scenes of explosion.
7. Rewinding doesn't restore any flags. i.e. I move out my territory, giving it to the enemy, this removes my flag from the city. I rewind the game, however my flag is not restored above the city.
8. The Heavy Bot no longer fires its missiles, only its laser.
9. The balance in a multiplayer replay is that of the PL, however in singleplayer replays it is that of the player. I believe singleplayer should be brought in line with multiplayer.
10. On the stats screen a player always sees themselves as the top set of stats and their opponent as the bottom set. However, while the PL and FNU icons follow the stats correctly, the unit icons do not. FNU units are always displayed for the top set and PL units are always displayed for the bottom set.
Actually, I'm not sure what the rules are for listing players. In single player the player is always top the AI always bottom, but I don't recall how it works in multiplayer. Anyway, basically the PL and FNU logos will move with the player but the unit icons won't (the stats do though)
11. Sometimes you will get "Requesting new turns" listed twice, one after the other, in the message box when connecting to the multiplayer server. I have no idea what causes this.
12. The Finish button appears for a -1 timelimit game after 14 days.
13. When you first finish a game with the AI, the game asks you for your name. For some reason,
Start is written above the name box. This should read something like
Name or
Enter your name.
14. In-game GUI shows that the default refresh rate setting is
default but the default ini setting is 60 (where as.the ini lists 0 as representing
default).
15. Using the Hardware sound setting on Audigy 2 (original too?) soundcards results in the music skipping and game instability.
The following are not bugs, but rather annoyances
A. Replays are listed by date created with no way of changing the order.
B. Replay window is not big enough for replay file names. It should, at the least, scale with the resolution/
C. Minimap window disappears after victory or defeat.
D. Turn number disappears at end of replay.
E. No indication is given of the outcome of a game at the end of a replay.
F. The stats button disappears at the end of a replay. It can be accessed via the Esc key, but not everyone knows that.
G There is no in-game way of changing the players name once it has been set.
H The game is not compatible with a multi-user enviroment whereby someone tries to play under an account with User rights. This will result in multiplayer games breaking and disappearing, an inability to save settings and replays, and no way of configuring settings specific to that user.
I A replay always shows the deployment of the person who created the replay first. I believe it should always be PL first, regardless of whose replay it is.
